Happy New Year 2020

Happy New Year from my house to yours!

I imagine you may have your new year resolution/s in place by now, but to tell the truth, I haven't made any apart from I'm never ever moving house again during winter!  Ha ha....never say never.  But truthfully, I don't even want to think about moving again.  We've had a few moves over the past 10 years but such was for good reason and we have finally achieved what we set out to do. 🎉🎉🎉

We are in the middle of a renovation at the moment and it's not a brilliant experience this time of the year!  I'm trying to imagine the end result to keep my enthusiasm going, but with a heavy head cold and hardly any sleep the past few nights, I can't say I'm feeling it right now 😷

In-between the drilling, etc today, I managed to sneak into the kitchen and capture a few shots after the electrician left.  I apologise for the mess in the background.... if I felt better, I would have tidied it first, but I guess it's difficult to keep things tidy when there's major work going on in the same place you're living and you're feeling under the weather on top of things!

"If you're thinking of doing a house renovation, stick to one room at a time.
It will seem more achievable and much less daunting."

Sarah Beeny (Property Ladder)

At the moment, I've no kitchen or utility sink (don't even ask!!!!) and hardly any worktops, plus no cooker!!!  Gees, this is definitely not for the faint-hearted I can tell you.... and this is just the kitchen 😱

Well, that's a glimpse into the start of my new year.  Not thrilling or anything unfortunately.  Hope you are all off to a good start to the new year and managing to dodge the cold and flu viruses that seem to be doing the rounds.  Stay cosy and warm throughout winter. 😘

Hope you feel better soon Wendy! As for the renovation, well we've been there. No fun at the time but it WILL be worth it in the end. :-)

Oh dear, I am so sorry that you are not feeling well. Renovations are not for the faint hearted at all. We just had both of bathrooms renovated. But I tell you what: the wait and mess is well worth it.

Thanks Jillian. It's definitely not fun, but like you nentioned, it will be worth it in the end.

It's a bit of a lingering cold virus Iris. Feeling better one minute and not so much the next. Makes you appreciate your health when feeling better.

I know you went through renovations yourself these past few months and really hope you are enjoying all the end results. Really looking forward to having my kitchen in place and not having to live on carry outs and hot pot dinners. Not good for the waistline!!!
