Pumpkins are becoming increasingly popular here in the shire and all over the UK.  Below are some fun ideas you may want to try:

  • Take a day trip to a pumpkin patch and choose your own pumpkin.  You may need to book beforehand, so don't forget to check!
  • Try your hand at pumpkin carving, e.g. you could carve out a pattern, a famous cartoon or film character, or even an autumn theme.  You could stage a fun event by getting together with friends and family and holding a competition to see who comes up with the best carved pumpkin design.
  • Craft an autumnal table or door display to really get into the autumn vibe.
  • Treat yourself to a Pumpkin Spice Yankee candle or similar and fill your home with a gorgeous seasonal scent.
  • For all you foodies out there, why not cook up a satisfyingly yummy recipe like spicy pumpkin soup, or pumpkin pie, etc.
  • Instead of the usual coffee latte, why not see if you can find somewhere that serves up pumpkin spice latte (e.g. Starbucks) or better still, make your own - pumpkin spice latte recipe - BBC recipe

I like to photograph pumpkins in still life set-ups. They make fab props, and once I'm finished I turn the pumpkins into spicy pumpkin soup.  What will you do with yours?
