Serenity Circle - May 2019

Welcome to May's Serenity Circle. We are a Collaborative group of photographers from various parts of the world.  The circle represents a wide range of photography genres with the common theme being "serenity moments experienced and captured during the past month."

"Where flowers bloom, so does hope."
-- Lady Bird Johnson --

This month I've experienced serenity moments outdoors in the countryside.  The hedgerows are ablaze with colour at this time of year and are really quite spectacular.  Each morning I've been serenaded by a chorus of small birds chirping in the trees along with the gentle buzz of bees pollinating the surrounding blossom whilst out walking my boy, Finlay.  These things trip nostalgia moments for me, i.e.
"a sense of awe and wonder when I consider how nature keeps on unfolding the different seasons year after year."
Sometimes the wonder of nature just blows my mind!  I've included a few macro images below in my post this month, including a couple of whimsical images too (bottom row).  When you get closer to nature through the art of macro photography, and see the tiny details on leaves, petals, tree bark, etc, you cannot help but be amazed.  What a wonderfully detailed world we live in!

Next in the circle is Amy Smith, Anchorage AK Photographer. I'm really looking forward to seeing and reading Amy's post.  I love her photography very much - she's one very talented lady.  You can read Amy's post by visiting: "The Inside Passage".

Wendy, I think the best way to capture nature is through a macro lens. I especially loved these images. I could just stare at the detail, color and light. Thank you for making my day.
