20% difference

Purchased these yellow roses 12 days ago and they are still going strong.  They may just be starting to wilt a tiny bit around the edges, but with selective focus this barely shows.  The roses cost £2.00 from Lidl's, whereas the same roses cost £2.50 in Asda's. Asda's or Lidl's? Hmmm!

Things happen in the right time

"God opens millions of flowers without forcing the buds.
It reminds us not to force anything, for things happen in the right time."

Do what you love

“I think people who are creative are the luckiest people on earth. I know that there are no shortcuts, but you must keep doing what you love.  Do what you love, and you will find the way to get it out to the world.” — Judy Collins

Took a still life workshop recently and loved it so much 💙 It's an addictive hobby!

Away from the city

"Away from the city." -- Anon

Headed outdoors early this morning and set off along a country path not far from home.  It was really quiet apart from the early morning bird song which was really beautiful.  Sometimes it's fine to be able to take your time to look around undisturbed - alone in nature and away from the cares of this world for a short while.  Bliss!

The great Athanasius (296–373) said, “....[the Psalms] embrace the whole life of man, the affections of his mind, and the motions of his soul..... he can select a psalm suited to every occasion, and will find that they were written for him.”  I tend to agree with him.

Enjoyed making the backdrop and foreground props for these images.  It was lovely and sunny this morning and I was able to paint them outdoors in the fresh air and allow them to dry.  Couldn't wait to try them out.  I'm hoping to make some more prop backgrounds to use in my still life soon, but loving the effect of these meantime.

Serenity Project - May 2018

We all need something we enjoy to transport our lives out of the ordinary - somewhere special we can go to unwind and rid ourselves of the stresses of every day life.  For me one of those places is photography. I've had a blast this month shopping for props, setting them up and arranging my lighting to capture the images in my mind. I hope you enjoy what I have to share in the Serenity circle this month.

Next in the serenity circle this month is my lovely friend Iris from Iris Nelson Photography, Metro Phoenix.  Please click here to find out where Iris has found serenity this month.
