Agog [Adj.] highly excited by eagerness  curiosity, anticipation, etc. --
Spotted this young bullock in a field on the way home yesterday. He was so inquisitive and totally agog when he spotted the camera. I noticed he had the most gorgeous long curly eyelashes and at that moment wished I had my zoom lens with me to capture them close up; however, if you move a little closer to the screen, you may just be able to see them too.

Books are....

"Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors, and the most patient of teachers." -- Charles William Elliot

Witness a thousand miracles

"To walk in nature is to witness a thousand miracles." -- Mary Davis

Captured these images whilst out for a walk this afternoon. The sky was very overcast with rain clouds which looked really threatening. I didn't know if I would find anything of interest under such lighting conditions, but spotted this little web basket with a cascade of tiny water droplets clinging to it. Almost missed this little treasure when it started to rain, but so glad I managed to capture it before the rain came on heavy and I had to make a dash for cover.

Somewhere on your journey

I'm closer than I was yesterday

"I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday." -- Jose N Harris
This is a path I walk along most days with Finlay. It's handy because its close to the house and I just clip on his lead and off we go.  Its a path which is frequently used by cyclists (like the one in the photo), runners, horse riders and people walking from one village to the next.

In recent days, the path  has been battered by high winds and heavy rain and the trees are starting to lose their leaves and become bare in places, but despite this, there seemed to be a certain charm about it yesterday.... or was it because I was looking at it from a different perspective?

Everything has beauty

"Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it." -- Karen Singh
Spotted this feather stuck to a berry yesterday afternoon. It was so delicate and tiny looking blowing in the wind.

Beauty in the mundane

"It's up to you to see the beauty in everyday things." -- Unknown
We have just over an acre of garden and a part of this includes an area which leads down hill to a small burn.  We have deliberately kept this area untouched to benefit the wildlife. It's a part of the garden we don't pay much attention to normally and it's quite overgrown and unruly even. At this time of the year, the wild flowers have succumbed to the cold autumn winds, and at a fleeting glance it looks quite bleak down there.

"It's amazing how lovely common things become, if one only knows how to look at them."-- Louisa May Alcott, Marjorie's Three Gifts
Late afternoon was overcast and seemed to support the mundane theme perfectly!  I wrapped up warm and headed outdoors in search of today's chosen theme.  For me it meant going into that area of the garden we see every day but don't give much thought to; spending a little time there absorbing what it looks like and ho…

Suddenly its time to start something new

I'm one of those photographers who cannot leave an image alone!  As well as shooting with a desired result in mind, I like to tweek and fine tune my work also.

"And suddenly, it's time to start something new and trust the magic of new beginnings...." -- Anon
Totally loved creating these images in various 'painterly' styles as opposed to regular photography. What's the saying?.... "A change is as good as a rest" and I'd have to agree! It's so refreshing to try something completely different from time to time, although I'm not sure I'd want to apply painterly effects to all of my images.  Now and again maybe.

AESTHETE (adj) Someone with deep sensitivity to the beauty of art or nature

Project 365 definitely encourages you to be aesthete; to slow down and look for beauty in the seemingly mundane; to enjoy the things in nature that we pass by every day without so much as a second glance. To look.... I mean really look at the world around you and see something you have perhaps seen many times before but actuallysee it for the first time!  That's aesthete.
